I am finding out just how hard it is to paint one simple rose, to adequately capture this delicate and fragile flower. The rosebud, with its petals still closed and compact, is much easier than one in full bloom. All that is required here is a few well placed strokes of just the right values of color. This shivering wintry rose, hugs tightly to her warm mantle of red, as she stands on tippy-toes, reaching and stretching for the warm light entering at the top left of the panel. I certainly can't fault her there as the temperature here continue to plunge.
Thank you for viewing my work.
