"Around the Bend"

"Around the Bend" 6x6" Oil on canvas panel

Here is the second part of the challenge I submitted to the Daily Paintwork's Weekly Challenge. Today's painting is from the second photograph that was posted of another road in Germany. 

I have missed painting landscapes and am anxious to hit the road again this summer for round two. It has surprised me to see how much my daily still-life practice has enhanced my landscapes. I really like the direction they seem to be heading as I learn to trust and express my feelings toward a subject rather than buying into what my eyes want to limit me into seeing.
